Dietrich Grunewald studied art in Stockholm, Academy of Art in Chicago and also in San Francisco. In 1939 he was commissioned to create scenic designs for the Royal Danish Opera. He also worked at 20th Century Fox, Goldwyn Studios and Walt Disney doing scenic designs, storyboards, sketches.
